Intern Positions
Publishing Intern (now seeking)
World Uniting Press, a division of World Uniting is seeking an intern to join the team in engaging some of today’s front-burner religious and socially conflicting issues through the publishing of its authors.
World Uniting, a start-up non-profit in Tacoma, WA, is providing perspective to the majority on behalf of those who are marginalized by current religiously and socially conflicting issues. Our programs include messages of empowerment to children who are bullied as a result of their gender, and messages of understanding to conservative faith audiences concerning LGBT persons, as well as other developing programs that fulfill our mission.
Opportunities:
- Work with authors from signing to actual market distribution of their work
- Learn cutting-edge back-of-house publishing methodologies and technology
- Learn the ins-and-outs of publishing in the modern international world
- Meet and interact with publicists, media outlets, reviewers and press
- Interact directly with the CEO and Board members concerning new authors, programs, and opportunities
Requirements:
- Bachelors degree (or degree in progress) in a liberal arts degree (religion, philosophy, social issues, communications, pr, etc.)
- Interest in religious and social issues
- Strong writing and research skills
- Openness to feedback, with strong desire to develop professional skills
- Ability to represent World Uniting Press (and/or World Uniting) professionally at events and at social occasions
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office
